Stuffed with Figs

Light Sculpture - Wax cast livers, projection mapping

Stuffed with Figs - probes the human desire for biomedical mass manufacturing—an imagined world of surplus organs housed in warehouses and factories, ready for transplantation. This speculative future raises questions about the commodification of the body, the shifting sacredness of our organs, and a gluttonous consumption culture that transforms the body into a vessel of excess. My piece "Jecur Ficatum" (Latin for "Liver Stuffed with Figs") serves as a metaphor for this paradox, illustrating the dual role of the liver as a site of both indulgence and survival, reflecting broader societal contradictions.
